During the EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN (The 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan) Toyota displayed a variety of its future technologies, based on the theme “The Dream, Joy and Inspiration of Mobility in the 21st Century.” Some of the technologies on display included the personal mobility “i-unit”. At the 39th Tokyo Motor Show 2005 Toyota displayed a personal mobility vehicle: the "i-swing" that allows drivers to express their individuality, and at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 Toyota exhibited the "i-REAL" that is a new personal mobility vehicle made closely in human scale as a step toward commercialization in the near future.
